Hard Work!

On Friday we woke up to a beautifully snow kissed morning. There was a thin layer on everything in the yard, and the leafless trees glimmered as the sun rose between them. I hope there are many more mornings like this to come.

Thankfully, however, it warmed up a little bit for the weekend, because we had some serious work to do around the house.

First, there was the shed. We have been trying to get it cleaned out for months, and we finally finished it on Saturday morning. It took me a little longer than I expected to sort through everything from my Dad's house, but here are the "after pictures" I promised like 25 posts ago...
After the shed was done, we started Leaf Fest 2008. We blew and raked leaves for 4 or 5 hours, which is much more arduous labor than I had remembered. At the end of the day, I think we were both shocked by how many leaves are on the curb.

Sunday was for mowing, edging and pruning. Ahh, I am so happy it's done!

In the past year, we have literally never filled up our compost bin, but I clipped so much stuff, that there is now an overflow pile...

This is going to be a CrAzY week around here, so stay tuned for more exciting happenings. I hope you all have a very Happy Thanksgiving!!
