Spring = Yardwork

We have been working really hard to get our yard under control. There are many dead plants and trees that need to go. Last weekend we removed all of the dead bushes from the front of our house. Four hours of sawing, digging and dragging paid off, but it was a huge job!

We also purchased a few hanging baskets for the front porch...

It's hard to believe from this picture that a lot of progress has been made, but the house looks and feels so much better without the dead energy around it. We are excited to think about landscaping and look forward to planting new bushes this fall.

Although we are going to wait on planting the main bushes out front, Wiene and Phil brought us this gardenia bush to add to our yard. Gardenias were my mom's favorite flower so it was a thoughtful gift that will remind me of her for years to come!
