Washington D.C.

After work on Thursday evening, I set off with Alissa, Rachael and Renee to visit Ola, who is living in D.C. while she studies to get her PsychD at the American School of Professional Psychology. We're very proud of her, but we miss her! Actually, we all miss each other... we see one another from time to time, but this is the first trip we have taken together since Spring Break during our senior year of highschool!

We were so excited about the trip, but as soon as we got in the car to leave, Rach got us really pumped up by announcing that she is pregnant! YEAH! Mike said he heard us screaming from inside the house and thought, wow, they must be really excited for D.C.

Congratulations to the Hansen family! Needless to say, we are thrilled for you guys!

After a five hour trip of catching up and celebrating, we arrived at Ola's apartment. We talked about the weekend plans and hit the hay.

On Friday morning, we hit the streets of the city. We walked around for a while before eating lunch at Clyde's and heading over the the National Portrait Gallery.

The Portrait Gallery was amazing. It was almost too much to take in during one visit, but I really enjoyed the contemporary floor and the folk art exhibit. They also currently have a hip-hop exhibit which was really interesting.

You may have to enlarge this to be able to read it, but we thought it was pretty cool.

After the museum, we went to dinner at Sequoia on the water in Georgetown. The weather was amazing!

On Saturday, we slept in until 11 and spent the day shopping. Mid-afternoon we made a stop at Georgetown Cupcake and then ducked into Dean and Deluca for coffee to avoid the rain.

On the way home we stopped and had our palms read. I'll just say it was hilarious and leave it at that. :)

Saturday night, we stayed in and had a pajama party. We facebooked people from highschool, watched Friends, and looked up funny movies on YouTube. I can't imagine a better Saturday night with my girls!

After brunch on Sunday we headed back home. We did, however, get to stop at Ikea which, along with Anthropologie, is my new favorite place to shop.

It was an incredible weekend. I am so lucky to have these women in my life!
