Our Christmas festivities continued after returning home from my grandparents house, as we visited with my family in the area before leaving for Mike's parents house. We had a wonderful time hanging out with my sisters and their families and also spending holiday time with some of our friends.

We arrived on Tuesday afternoon to their beautifully decorated home...

That evening, Grammy Mac took Mike and I out to dinner and to see the movie Milk, which is intense and fantastic. After a wonderful night with her, we got home, played some cards and visited with Debbie and Mac.

When we woke up the next day, Mike felt sick, which was a big bummer. At the Macs, we were celebrating Christmas on Saturday so even though it was technically Christmas Eve, it was quiet around the house and there was plenty of time for relaxing and healing. The main thing we missed was dinner at Wiene and Phil's house, which we were going to come home for that night. We were very sad to miss it, but we're going to try and schedule a holiday dinner one night this week instead.

Thursday, Mike was still under the weather so we had another quiet day of watching movies, reading and lounging around. We did, however, decide to open a few presents that morning even though we weren't doing the main gift exchange until Saturday. Mike gave me the movie Grizzly Man, so we watched that with his parents and I was just thrilled! My loyal blog readers may remember me mentioning it before (I love it!).

On Friday, the Missy, Lance and Chrissy arrived, and Mike was feeling better! After everyone had settled in, the Ornament Dinner kicked off the Mac Christmas celebration.

Here are our ornaments. He, of course, got the Diet Coke and I got the Peas in a Pod :)

One Christmas Eve gift each! (We all got matching jammies)

Saturday: "Christmas Morning"

First, we had a family breakfast...

And then we opened gifts! Santa was really nice to postpone his post-Christmas vacation until after he visited us on Friday night! And, boy, was he good to us! Thank you Santa for all of the wonderful gifts!!

But, of course, the greatest gift of all was being able to spend time with our loved ones.

We got home last night, unpacked from our trip and took down our Christmas decorations. We had a very happy Christmas and are looking forward to bringing in the new year.
