22 Weeks

I realized last week that I look exhausted in most of my weekly belly shots because I always take them at the end of the day. And since I am totally worn out by 5pm most days, I decided that I should try to get my picture at the start of the day instead. So, voila! It's not exactly a glamour shot but I think it represents the way I go out into the world a little more accurately...

Maternity clothes? See above photo.

Sleep: It's been phenomenal this week. It helps that we got new curtains for our bedroom that completely block out the streetlight nearby.

Best moment this week: On Saturday night, we went on a date to see the Symphony. The musicians were incredible and we enjoyed the show more than I can tell you. The best part, however, was during Mozart's Symphony No. 40, Lydia kicked and rolled and flipped every time that the strings were playing really furiously. It was making me laugh really hard, which was kind of awkward since we, of course, were sitting at the symphony.

Movement: She has been a wild one this week. I feel high kicks and low kicks and kicks in the middle of my belly. It's amazing how much stronger they are getting!

Gender: Girl

Labor Signs: Thankfully, none.

Stretch Marks? Not yet but the itching has commenced. Oh my gosh, my belly is itchy all the time, even right after I put lotion on! Mike has been rubbing Burt's Bees, "Mama Bee Belly Ointment" on my belly every night since about week 15, so hopefully that will help ward off stretch marks. Fingers crossed!

Belly Button in or out? In. But the skin around it is definitely starting to firm up...

Cravings/Aversions: Still not wanting red meat. LOVING veggie burgers, blueberries and bananas.

What I am looking forward to: I am ready to have the baby's room cleaned out completely! We've made considerable progress but there's still a ways to go before everything that belonged there has a new home.

Also, I got to spend some time with Holly and baby Lawson this week, which made me about a thousand times more excited for May to get here. I just can't wait to see what my babygirl looks like and find out what kind of personality she has.

What I miss: I miss guilt free eating for one.

Weekly Wisdom: Just roll with the punches. Pregnancy symptoms are the craziest thing I've ever experienced.

Milestones: Well, let me just tell you, it has been quite a week. My vision has become slightly blurry courtesy of the pregnancy hormones, which I hear is normal but is not too fun since I don't have great eye sight to begin with.

warning: the following is very probably too much information... so consider yourself warned if you choose to continue...

I also started to leak colostrum this week, which I've got to tell you, kind of freaked me out. I had no idea that could start so soon! I just hope that means that I'll have no trouble producing all the milk that Lydie will need. All in all, however crazy these things seem at first, I think I've been very lucky so far with this pregnancy, and I'd be thrilled to simply continue experiencing all the normal albeit wacky pregnancy side effects. :)
